On the same day exploring Brooklyn with Joel, he showed me this neat space in Williamsburg - the
Brooklyn Art Library, which houses the brilliant Sketchbook Project. The shelves here are stocked with sketchbooks from all sorts of artists from all around the world. Besides that, there are just a ton of cool finds, art supplies, and paper goods.
We picked up
this pretty hilarious illustrated book.
I love this space! What cute and interesting finds! I also now love the word "ephemera" and what it means, just a sentimentalist at heart! Great photographs as always :)
ReplyDeletegoodness how this appealed to my inner nerd.
ReplyDeletewhy is it that you never hear about these places when you're actually in new york?! i would've loved to visit the library. what a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteI love that book! I bought it for one of my dear friends for their birthday and nearly had to keep it for myself, it is so funny. Before I even clicked the link, I had a feeling it would be that book!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely putting this on my list of places to visit the next time I visit NY. I could spend hours perusing those sketchbooks.
PS: If you ever are interested in taking up painting, that Gouache you photographed is my absolute favorite brand! Highly recommend.

I love the Brooklyn Art Library! My friend has a sketchbook there, which you can 'borrow'. When we went last year they were selling the cutest little Kodak cameras.
