Wrist candy and a cheerful planner

The purchase of this 2016 planner was probably the most effortless way to add some color in my life recently. The cheery yellow really does make me a little happier, as silly as it sounds. But I love all of Smythson's products and it's hard to choose just one color for a planner. (If you're looking for a 2016 planner still, this slightly bigger desk version is on sale in the always amazing cobalt blue.) Yes, they're a bit splurge-y but if you actually use it for the full year, your cost per use is, like, less than $1 a day. ;) But in addition to its practical use, it's just a really beautiful desk object, and I'm a sucker who's always willing to pay a premium for that.

I rarely wear anything with my Love bracelet since it's elegant on its own (oh, and I'm lazy), but I've been having fun with this little trio recently. I get a lot of questions about where this clover bracelet is from, and for the longest time I couldn't find it online anymore. It looks like it's back though! I think of it like a little good luck charm. The Celine knot bracelet isn't usually purchasable online, but you can find a pretty killer deal on one here (I mean, damn I wish I had seen that). For a similar alternative, Kate Spade makes a great one for under $100. Also on my paws is the classic "Scarlet" by RGB.

On an unrelated note, I'm heading to Seoul in the upcoming weeks and would love to hear any recommendations if you have any. Shops, eats, coffee, museums – all of that would be great!

  3. Beautiful shots. They capture the elegance of the bracelets well, and the colours are so crisp and natural. Really like.

  4. That's exciting about Seoul! I highly recommend Retrona Pie's earl grey chocolate tart near Bukchon Village. There's also a great street food scene in the area too, rice cakes on sticks for $1.

  11. A little late as you are already on your trip, but I think you will LOVE Seoul.

The coffee there is amazing (at local coffee shops - not at any chains...it's terrible) as it's almost all hand-drip!

If you find yourself on the North side of the city (I sort of expect you will stay in Sinsadong, Cheongdam-dong or a similar area on the South side of the river), you should try the local boutiques in Hongdae; don't be afraid of the massive number of students - there are some amazingly well curated local shops for both goods, art, and clothing pieces!

There you can also try some pretty damn good Korean food (http://www.timeout.com/seoul/restaurants/the-best-restaurants-in-hongdae) and for an alcoholic drink-to-go (yes, to go!), check out Vinyl (61-1 Wausan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea).

It's hard begin to recommend specific coffee or food because there are so many depending which part of the city you are in. But I will recommend Flying Pan (there are two or three, I think) for brunch food and Myeongdong Kyoja if you find yourself in need of some ma&pop dumplings and noodles and in wall-to-wall people-packed Myeongdong. If you do end up in Hongdae, Coffee Lab and Addis Ababa serve top notch coffee.

    Enjoy Seoul!

  12. Seoul is super vibrant and has really great coffee if you know where to look. Definitely spend a day or two wandering around Hongdae (really young and artsy neighbourhood) and you must check out Coffee Libre and Tailor Coffee. They both have at least two outlets now in Seoul.

Coffee Libre is a little out of the way in Hongdae. For Korean directions:

    서울시 마포구 연남동 227-15
Café Libre, 227-15 Yeonnam, Mapo, Seoul

    연락처 : +82 2 334 0615
    영업시간 : 12시 - 9시 (매주 월요일 휴무)

    Other outlets: http://www.coffeelibre.kr/pages/cafe.html

Also worth checking out is Korea's incredible scene of local stationery designers and artists. If you get the chance to explore Samcheongdong, a lovely neighbourhood near the Gyeongbokgung palace that's teeming with art galleries and cafes, make a pit stop at TTABLE OFFICE. http://ttableoffice.cafe24.com/front/php/faq.php

    Looking forward to your pictures!
