Shades of brown

A 100% cashmere turtleneck sweater for under $100 – yes I'll take them all please. You can't really argue with that (hat tip to K for sharing her find with me!). Of course, I don't expect any miracles from such affordable cashmere but since much of my $$$ cashmere still ends up pilling, I'd much rather deal with it at this price point. I admit, I'm still mostly loyal to Everlane's cashmere collection and particularly love the cropped crew, but I liked this particular shade of brown I was able to get in the Uniqlo version.

Here, I'm wearing the warmest Yak skirt from Hermes I splurged on last year (this sweater skirt gets across a similar idea), these shiny new boots, and this trusty shade of red I mentioned a few posts back.

    1. Yeah it's a little tricky to capture the true color -- it's more of a greyish brown in real life, the color code on this particular one is 34 Brown.

  4. All Cashmere starts pilling because it's wool, it's a natural process like felting "in miniature" as soon as friction is applied (like wearing a coat over it). The "bobbly bits" can be removed by combing them out. Some people use razor blades, but I'd like to keep the garment...:)) ♥nic

  8. This is such an understated and elegant look; it simply exudes sophistication. The turtle neck and the midi definitely brings in shape, as it isn't frumpy. Plus, the minimal jewelry adds a touch of daintiness. And the red lip? Classic. Gorgeous!

  9. Wow, I've been eyeing those boots for a while now and always envisioned wearing them with baggy boyfriend jeans and a chunky sweater. But the way you styled it has me inspired. This look is so elegant!

    1. I think it is pretty true to size -- I'm wearing an XS here but the S fits fine too, just looser in the arms.
