Stripes and cut-offs

I found myself on Shelter Island yesterday for a quick editorial shoot. It was a beautiful day so I grabbed some casual snaps while on the island and its surrounding area. I don't get out east very much (I've literally been three times, and each was for a shoot of some sort), but it's a nice change of scenery once in a while. I couldn't be one of those people who summers out east though – I think I'd get antsy by day two.

On the way back to the city, I found a stand selling peonies and strawberries by the road. In my head, I made a dramatic slamming on breaks sound on the road and u-turned dangerously into the stand (though it of course didn't actually go down like that). But seriously, what could be better than a stand selling peonies and strawberries? AND strawberry ice cream? I could hardly contain myself.

(Outfit details below.)

  1. Shelter Island is where my mom and dad met! I can't believe I've never been, but I would love to go. It seems like a place I could spend a week -- or a month.

  2. Love the photos, Alice! Who took them? Please don't tell me you're that good with a self-timer/remote! :) And I can just imagine that dramatic turn-around, even if it played out differently in real life ;)

  3. Ah the most perfect shots Alice. Love the ones of you, the tall grass and that distant shot of you. Also rocking the breton stripes - that sweater is such a winner!

  5. Great photos! yes, driving around the East Coast (in particular New England) in the summer typically involves lots of U-Turns and questionable driving habits due to the fact that someone is always selling something delectable at a stand or you've spotted a "Yard Sale" sign- blinkers be damned ;)
