Self.

I forgot how hard it was to take even basic self-portraits. The light was too pretty in my living room this afternoon to not try, though.

I'm amazed that my $3 remote from China that I had gotten for my Rebel XTi back in 2008 still works. On the original battery no less.

  1. It's not easy doing the self-portrait thing after all this time, but looks like you haven't lost your touch. Love the soft lighting on both of them, well done!

  7. You've done a fantastic job here, Alice. Beautiful lighting! I fail miserably each time when I tried to take a self portrait. Haven't managed to take ONE good photo yet.

  11. It's SO hard to take self portraits after taking a break from them. I tried a few days ago myself and couldn't seem to not make weird faces. It was really awkward! (Yours look lovely though!)

  12. i think i have that same remote, but haven't used it yet on self-portraits. it's a scary subject to take on, especially for someone like me, who's not photogenic at all. you're beautiful and i just love how flawless your skin looks.

  13. Just found your blog - you are beautiful, and so are these photos! I think even with perfect light I wouldn't be able to take these kind of pictures - thanks for sharing.

  15. This photos are breathtaking! So simple and casual yet personable. I realize that I am completely comfortable behind the camera and never in front of it so I have been taking photos of myself as a way to face myself. I will defiantly be checking out your blog on a regular bases.
