Sand and snow

I have been scanning and organizing negatives like a mad man tonight. It was nearly 11 pm before I realized how hungry I was but I couldn't tear myself away from the organizing even to heat up leftovers. It seems film is making me lovesick. :P

After some hardcore multitasking, I finally present you with a selection of the most recent scans. These were taken yesterday at the Jersey Shore. I've always wanted to visit a beach during the wintertime and I'm glad I finally got to, even though it was a bit drizzly and dreary outside. It was peaceful and beautiful, much like what you might expect of the shore at this time of year.

These were all taken with Fuji Pro 400H though I think a Provia or an Astia would have been fun, as they would yield much more dramatic results in terms of color and contrast. The 400H, however, did a nice job capturing the real greyness and monotone feel of the day.

    serene indeed! it looks so very cold. i don't think i've ever seen snow on the beach!

    Snow on the beach...it's quite rare here in Sardinia and your wonderful shots make it really more unusual, fascinating and beautiful.

    I love the seaside when the off season arrives, it seems more beautiful probably because here are very few folk around to spoil the solitude.

    that 3rd picture rocks my socks. i can't believe how serene and peaceful it looks. of course, i'm sure the cold had something to do with it ;)

    Snow on the beach is probably never going to happen here in Australia! I am so glad you posted these - they are gorgeous. I'm rather in love with the blue and white bench, gorgeous colours. A house there wouldn't go astray either!

    i really like these shots. i'm originally from Queens, but then my family moved down to the Jersey Shore area. And my mom used to like to go to the beach when it was cooler out. so these shots remind me of home in a way, even though i definitely didn't grow up in one of the immediate shore towns i guess. it all looks familiar, but i can't guess for sure where exactly this is.
