Platform

I pulled out a few classics from my closet for a Mikimoto event in Tokyo this past week, including this Valentino dress from many seasons ago that I pretty much wear to every cocktail event ever, and my Hermès Constance bag (bought used a few years ago as well). Before I left on this trip, I stopped by the Prada store and splurged on these platform sandals that I've been eying forever. Sort of kicking myself, because they are now on sale (though in different colorways) here and also here with more available sizes. Hah, maybe I should consider another pair...? Any shoe that makes me as tall as 5'7" is exciting in my books.

ft. Valentino dress (here is one with a similar fit and cape-back) // Hermes Constance bag (great price on one here) // Prada velvet sandals (damn the exact pair to mine at 30% off, sigh) // Mikimoto jewelry // NARS lipstick

Thank you, Blair, for taking these photos!

  1. The quality of your photos are amazing! The color and detail really stand out. What type of camera do you use? Or do you have a blog post about your equipment already?

  3. Such a beautiful post! I love your rich colors and creamy skin tones. Do you ever use presets to achieve your look? I wondered what your editing process was like. Love your post!

    1. occasionally I do use presets but for the most part, I just edit very basically and bring up contrast and add an S curve.

    1. they are pretty comfortable given how high they are -- the only main complaint i have is how heavy they are!

  8. As a 5'3 gal, I agree with loving a pair of platforms every now and then. If I can get up to 5'6 I'm game.
