24.5

Hello and thank you for the encouraging and constructive comments on my last post. I almost always feel lame after feeling down - it's like the next phase is always "get your shit together, Alice!" Ironically, after lamenting about how expensive props wouldn't make me better a photographer in my last post, I impulsively shelled out way more than necessary for this simple teapot and mug. They're from marimekko and I just loved the design of them. It's also my half-birthday (and I've always been a proponent of noting them and well, of spoiling myself in general), so it was an easy justification.

I broke them in with some Earl Grey French Blue tea from Mariage Frères, and had a little snack of donut peaches (that also cost an arm and a leg, sheesh). I'm also mildly horrified that I like my iPhone shot of this very same scene more than my 5Dmkii's...

I've got an early wedding call time tomorrow so I'm taking it easy tonight. Stay tuned for Paris posts next week!

  4. I have the Earl Grey French Blue as well. I love the color and rich bite. I hope it's okay, but I have an iPhone photography question I'd like to ask you. I'll email you.

  8. A half birthday is the best idea I have ever heard. Can we have quarter birthdays too?

  9. It's crazy how iPhone/instagram pictures turn out better than the 'real thing'...

  10. Alice, Alice... Whenever I visit your blog, and see your pictures, I think to myself... "Man, I want to be like her when I grow up". Except, I'm (i think) all grown up, and definitely much older than you are. Yet, here I am, wishing I can quit my day job and do something I love.

To make it short. You are fabulous. Your pictures are beautiful. I hope deep down inside you know, and believe, that.

Keep on flashing that Cheshire smile. =)

  14. I love every item in these pictures, but I think the mug is my favorite. I'm a big fan of Earl Grey, but have never tried Earl Grey French Blue, I'll have to add it to my "to try" list. And thanks so much for the visit to my blog!
